AC Milan lodge second bid for Christian Pulisic

Serie A giants AC Milan have submitted a second offer to Chelsea for winger Christian Pulisic worth £18.9 million, according to The Athletic.

Chelsea rejected their initial offer as Lyon submitted a higher bid, but Milan may have more luck with their revised offer.

Pulisic is not interested in a move to France and prefers joining the Serie A side, who are in the Champions League. He has already agreed personal terms with Milan.

Chelsea and Milan have a solid working relationship after doing a lot of business together over the last few seasons.

Milan signed Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea this summer and Fikayo Tomori last season.

The Blues also sent Tiemoue Bakayoko to Milan on loan twice before terminating his contract this summer.

Both parties will believe they can agree a deal soon. New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has no plans of using Pulisic and wants him sold before they go on their pre-season tour next week.

Pulisic has struggled to become a regular at Chelsea, with injuries halting his development.

He played only 813 minutes in all competitions for Chelsea last season, starting just nine times.

The former Borussia Dortmund attacker will aim to nail down a starting spot on the right side of the attack, where Milan have lacked quality.

The seven-time Champions League winners hope to revamp their right flank this summer.

Apart from Pulisic, they are still pushing to sign Villarreal attacker Samuel Chukwueze. They want the two players to fight for the starting spot.

However, the United States captain can also deputise for Rafael Leao on the left wing.
