Enzo Fernandez’s agent denies Chelsea exit rumours

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez’s agent Uriel Perez has rejected rumours his client is already seeking an exit from Stamford Bridge.

The Blues shelled out £106.8 million to sign the Argentine in January 2023, breaking the Premier League record. He is on a contract that runs until 2032.

However, Chelsea’s fortunes have not improved since they signed the 23-year-old. They finished 12th in the league last season and are struggling this term.

Consequently, there have been murmurings that several new signings are looking for an escape route.

Perez has dispelled those talks, claiming the former River Plate star wants to succeed in London.

“The player has no intention of leaving,” Perez said (via AS). “The leaders were very clear with this project.

“It is a plan that was going to be difficult at the beginning because new and young players were going to arrive, but when the pieces of the team fit together well, Chelsea was going to move forward.

“Fernandez’s desire is to be on the team and succeed. We don’t meet with any clubs or try to talk to any clubs. We know what the player’s desire is. Obviously, he would like the club to be in another position, but that will be achieved with work.”

Despite Perez’s assurances, doubts linger. Chelsea’s current form paints a bleak picture, and the allure of Champions League football at another club could prove too tempting.

The season remains young, but if Chelsea struggle to climb the table, even Perez’s words may not be enough to silence transfer rumours surrounding Fernandez.

His talent is undeniable, but his future at Stamford Bridge hinges on a turnaround in Chelsea’s fortunes and his own ability to shine in a system undergoing major changes.
