Angelo Gabriel leaves Chelsea to join Strasbourg on loan

Angelo Gabriel has joined French top-flight club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

The young winger has captured attention with his scintillating performances during pre-season with Chelsea.

Having only recently joined the Blues from Santos earlier this summer for £14 million, Angelo showcased his potential during the team’s pre-season trip to the United States.

His appearances in the friendly matches against Wrexham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Fulham left fans aware of his raw talent.

Angelo impressed Chelsea’s management, but they ultimately sent the 18-year-old Brazilian attacker out on loan to Strasbourg.

Angelo will continue to hone his skills under former Nice and Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira in France.

Chelsea’s involvement with Strasbourg goes beyond the loan deal. The Blues’ umbrella company, BlueCo, acquired the French club at the end of last season and established a partnership between them.

The Blues are relentless in their pursuit of young talents. They are on the verge of securing another young player, Deivid Washington, from Santos.

Washington could become the eighth signing for Stamford Bridge and their fifth under-20 signing. They already signed Kendry Paez, and he will join in 2025.

Diego Moreira and Lesley Ugochukwu have already come on board.

Moreira and Ugochukwu’s future may see them following Angelo’s path to loan assignments.

However, if everything goes well, the future looks bright for these young talents.

Angelo will now embark on an exciting adventure in Ligue 1 – a league known for allowing young talents to flourish.
