RB Leipzig wonderkid Benjamin Sesko Sesko has an affordable release clause of €50 million, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The 20-year-old has been linked with several European top clubs since he first emerged from Red Bull Salzburg’s youth team in 2019, and Leipzig inserted a release clause in the deal to entice him.
However, clubs will be circling for the Slovenian starlet when his release clause becomes active this summer including Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues desperately need a centre-forward to bang in goals for them and have Sesko on their shortlist.
They reportedly considered a move for him in 2022 before he chose Leipzig, and he fits into their new model of signing young players before they hit their prime.
He’d also be a less expensive addition than Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Ivan Toney.
Man United also had a look at Sesko when he was available before he accepted the move to Germany.
The Red Devils are scouring the market for a striker to provide competition for summer signing Rasmus Hojlund with Anthony Martial’s future uncertain.
Tottenham lost Harry Kane last summer and failed to replace him, meaning they will be in the market for a centre-forward this summer.
Sesko could be the perfect addition to Ange Postecouglou’s exciting Spurs side with Heung-min Son and James Maddison around him.
He has failed to live up to expectations in the Bundesliga, netting just three goals in 14 appearances, but he remains a striker with plenty of potential.
