Chelsea have announced a multi-year partnership with Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman.
This development comes after Chelsea recently withdrew from negotiations with Stake.com over a potential front-of-shirt sponsorship.
Fans rallied against the deal with the online casino, forcing the club into a rethink.
The precise nature of the partnership between Oman Air and Chelsea is unknown.
The airline will be Chelsea’s global airline partner. However, the Oman Air name and logo will not be on Chelsea’s shirts during the upcoming season.
Chief executive, Chris Jurasek, said (via Chelsea’s official website): “We are very pleased to welcome Oman Air as our Official Airline Partner.
“We have a shared ambition for innovation and success both on and off the pitch, and we are excited to bring this partnership to life for our fans around the world.”
Abdulaziz Al Raisi, the chief executive of Oman Air, echoed Jurasek’s sentiments, emphasising the airline’s pride in partnering with Chelsea.
“Together, we hope to expand Chelsea Football Club’s following across the world whilst showcasing the routes that we fly and the excellence of our service,” Al Raisi said.
“We also look forward to using our partnership to highlight the rich culture of Oman to the club’s existing extensive fanbase.”
Oman Air recently won the Best Airline Staff in the Middle East award at the Skytrax 2023 World Airline Awards.
Their impending membership in the prestigious Oneworld Alliance in 2024 further solidifies their reputation.
With Chelsea actively seeking new opportunities for growth and global recognition, the new partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both parties as they strive to reach new heights on and off the field.
