Chelsea to face Celtic in US pre-season tour at Notre Dame Stadium

Chelsea will face Celtic during our 2024 USA pre-season tour. The match will be played on Saturday, July 27, at the historic Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

This fixture joins the previously announced encounters against Wrexham and Club America, with tickets and hospitality packages already available for all three games. 

A match against Celtic offers fans a chance to witness a classic European rivalry on American soil.

This clash won’t be the first time Chelsea and Celtic have faced off during a USA Tour. In 2004, the Blues emerged victorious in a thrilling 4-2 encounter held in Seattle.

“The opportunity to play in front of our passionate fans at the University of Notre Dame is something we’re truly excited about,” said Chelsea CEO Chris Jurasek. 

“This match against Celtic provides another fantastic contest during the club’s pre-season tour and will be valuable preparation for our upcoming Premier League campaign.”

Notre Dame Stadium is renowned for its electric college football atmosphere and promises to be a unique and exciting venue for this summer clash. 

Fans can secure their spot for the match and get access to the Blues players through Club Chelsea hospitality packages, already available for all three confirmed USA Tour fixtures.

Last summer, Chelsea had prepared for the season by participating in a Premier League tour alongside Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, Aston Villa, Brentford, and Newcastle United.

Several Premier League clubs also toured the US as they sought to establish a connection with one of the most prominent consumer markets in the world.

However, the Premier League summer series has not been organised ahead of the 2024/25 season due to differences over image rights and remuneration.

Chelsea will continue tapping into the US market, looking to take advantage of the football fever taking over the country ahead of the Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup.
