Chelsea are eyeing a summer move for Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams, according to the Telegraph.
Williams has helped his side reach the final of the Copa del Rey. Athletic are also pushing for a Champions League spot, sitting five points below fourth-placed Atletico Madrid.
He has netted three goals and six assists in 22 La Liga appearances this term. Williams can play on either flank, which makes him an enticing prospect for his suitors.
Chelsea and several other European clubs have him on their radar as they look to bolster their attacking options this summer.
However, if Chelsea push ahead with a move for Williams, it could have grave consequences for Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk.
Sterling has been a disappointing signing since joining the club in 2022. He has lacked the consistency to help Chelsea push up the league table, and the club may be tempted to cut their losses this summer.
The former Manchester City star attracted interest from Saudi Pro League clubs last summer but remained in London. He may decide to move away if another winger signs for Chelsea.
Mudryk has also not kicked on since joining the club for £88 million. He has struggled for form and consistent game time and could move if Chelsea land Williams.
However, the pair are still Chelsea players, and there is no indication they will leave this summer.
Chelsea’s priority remains signing a striker. Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko are at the top of their shortlist.
It is still unclear which option they will go with as they look to strengthen their forward line.
