Chelsea have been enduring a poor run of at the moment.
The Blues have won just two of their previous ten Premier League matches, thus slipping down to seventh in the standings.
Enzo Maresca’s side suffered their latest defeat last weekend at Aston Villa following a brace from Marco Asensio. Football expert Paul Merson has warned the Italian boss that he could lose his job if results don’t improve soon.
However, the West Londoners are expected to return to winning ways when they host league minnows Southampton on Tuesday night.
Chelsea have also received a big boost ahead of the home clash.
According to RMC Sport, Wesley Fofana will be part of their squad against the Saints.
The 24-year-old has been missing since sustaining a hamstring injury against Villa on December 1.
It was originally thought that Fofana would be out for around a month, but Maresca revealed last month that he could be sidelined for the rest of the season.
However, Chelsea fans will be very happy to know the defender is set to be part of the squad against Southampton.
Fofana started his career at Saint-Etienne before switching to Leicester City in 2020.
His move to the Midlands outfit was very successful as he made over 50 appearances during his two years at the club .
Fofana’s performances at Leicester persuaded Chelsea to splash an enormous £75 million fee to sign him in 2022.
However, the defender’s spell in London has been plagued by injury issues since his big money move to the club.
The centre-back has only made 32 appearances across all competitions so far, with two goals to his name.
He made a good start to the season under Maresca this season, starting 12 of the opening 13 Premier League matches.
However, he picked up a hamstring injury in December and hasn’t been seen on the pitch since.
Fofana has enormous potential but he is rarely available for selection.
He will hope to make a good impact on his return for the team, who are massively struggling for form.
