Enzo Fernandez pondering premature Chelsea exit amid club’s struggles

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is considering leaving Stamford Bridge just seven months after his arrival because of the club’s decline, as per Fichajes.

Arriving for a British record fee in January, the Argentine midfielder’s ambitions were curtailed by Chelsea’s fall from grace.

The club reached new lows after finishing 12th in the Premier League last season, despite Fernandez producing some exceptional displays to justify his enormous price tag.

There was a renewed hope among the Blues faithful after a major summer overhaul, which saw an influx of new signings headed by new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Chelsea have registered only one win in four games this season, with the only victory coming against newly-promoted Luton Town.

Disappointing defeats against West Ham United and Nottingham Forest show the Blues are far from returning to their former glory.

To compound their struggles, Fernandez is contemplating a premature exit from Stamford Bridge if Chelsea’s decline persists.

The 2022 World Cup winner secured his move to Chelsea to win more titles and enjoy regular Champions League football.

However, the Blues’ horrendous start to the new start season has cast doubt over their top-four chances.

Chelsea may find it hard to keep hold of the former Benfica star in the event of another trophy-less campaign.

Having been tied to a long-term contract, the Blues would demand an exorbitant transfer fee to sanction a move for the midfielder.

A player of the Argentine’s world-class quality would have no shortage of suitors.
