Malo Gusto picks up hamstring injury in dreadful 2-2 draw with Burnley

Chelsea defender Malo Gusto suffered a hamstring injury in the shameful 2-2 draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

The young French right-back had struggled at the beginning of the game, with Wilson Odobert causing him plenty of problems.

However, he bounced back and delivered another terrific performance defensively and offensively.

Unfortunately, he pulled up in the 84th minute and had to come off for Alfie Gilchrist, adding to Chelsea’s well-documented injury woes.

The Blues have Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu, Levi Colwill, and Robert Sanchez sidelined.

Chelsea’s constant injury problems have been causing a stir, with many wondering how many players keep dropping like flies.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino claimed it was not a result of his training methods and that his coaching staff knew why it had been happening.

They may know the problem, but applying a solution looks to be a problem after Gusto joined ten of his teammates on the treatment table.

The Gusto injury setback was not even the worst part of today’s game, as the West Londoners threw away a perfect chance to secure three points.

The Blues got the upper hand when Burnley had a man sent off, and Cole Palmer gave the home side the lead from the spot before the half-time break.

However, Josh Cullen equalised after the break with a stunning goal to bring the Clarets back into the tie.

Chelsea were susceptible throughout, looking porous from every angle. Even when Palmer bagged a second to restore Chelsea’s lead, they conceded cheaply from a set-piece (Djordje Petrovic did not cover himself in glory today).

Chelsea had several chances to claim a win, but Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson spurned them, while Burnley keeper Arijanet Muric produced a stellar showing to earn his side a point.
